Senior Data Analyst

About the role

We’re looking for a Data Analyst to join the team, working within our strategy & insights team in TRACK, part of DDB Group.

The role

Work within the TRACK strategy and analytics practice to help develop and deliver analytical solutions that solve clients’ business problems.

In this role you will apply statistical techniques, methodologies, and tools to an exciting range of customer datasets from some of New Zealand’s biggest brands to generate actionable insights that help our clients increase the volume and value of their customers. In this role, you will lead end‑to‑end analytics initiatives, such as customer segmentation and dashboard development, while partnering closely with clients, customer strategists, and other key business stakeholders.

On a day to day basis, you’ll be:

  • Responding to ad‑hoc data analysis requests from clients.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve business questions.
  • Owning and delivering analytics solutions and presenting insights to clients.
  • Maintaining and administering dashboards, data integrations, and reporting platforms.
  • Documenting processes and procedures.
  • Tracking performance and producing analysis packs.
  • Performing data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.

What will you bring?

We’re looking for a passionate and driven person who can blend both analytic rigor with an ability to translate and present complex technical solutions that deliver real business benefits for our clients.

  • 5+ years of experience as a data analyst/customer analyst/data scientist
  • Strong SQL and Python skills for data cleaning and analysis, ideally within Databricks or Snowflake
  • Proven experience partnering with customer, loyalty, or digital marketing teams to analyse customer and digital data across retail, UX, app, web, or behavioural analytics environments
  • Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or other data visualisation tools
  • Experience working with GA4 data. BigQuery experience is a bonus.
  • Proven success in leading a segmentation project
  • Ability to translate complex data into insights easily understood by non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of statistics and predictive analytics
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel user
  • Knowledge of cloud tools like GCP and AWS is beneficial
  • Excellent writing and communication skills: proposals, presentations, project delivery
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to form good relationships
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to changes effectively
  • Fast learner and keen to progress in the world of data analytics/data science
